Ray
"Bradda" Cooper and Linebred, LLC. brings you an Amateur
Fighting Event at the Neal Blaisdell Center at 7:00 pm, Saturday February 2, 2002.
The matches will consist of 3 rounds of 1 minute each. Each fighter
will be allowed to use only his hands. The spinning backfist will
also be a legal move. No kicks, no grappling... Fighters will be
wearing 16 ounce gloves and headgear. Think of it as "Toughman"
comes to Hawaii.
The purpose of this
event is to provide a venue
for local aspiring fighters who are curious about getting a taste of
professional matches without diving straight into full blown full contact
competition. Ray also wants to provide a place where people can come
to watch and participate in a sport that upholds professionalism and
integrity. He says "There is a lot of local talent around...
All that is needed is to provide them a chance... a vision."
There are still slots left to enter this 32 man single elimination
tournament. There will be 2 weight classes, 201 lbs and over and 200
lbs and under. If you are interested and want to see if you have
what it takes to be a competitor, please either call Ray at 696-5502 or
email afc@hawaii411.com.
The winners will receive $1000 in either a cash or gift certificate (after
all, once
you accept a cash prize, you aren't an amateur anymore).
If you would like to sponsor this event, please email requests as soon as
possible to LinebredLLC@hawaii411.com.
They will be glad to accommodate you and develop a package that fits your
budget which will include radio and newspaper advertisements, ringside
seats, and banners and booths at the competition.
Please come out to the competition on Saturday, February 2. Support
the local talent and the visions, hopes, and desires that Bradda Ray is
attempting to share with the Hawaii athletes. You'll have a great
time and will be provided with a great show. Advance tickets are $25
and $27 at the door. Or, you can go ringside for $40. Please
go to www.ticketplushawaii.com
if you want some choice tickets, or call 526-4400. You can also get
tickets from the Blaisdell Box office or at Foodland or Sack and Save.
